Dr. Mohamed Boufarss

Dr. Mohamed Boufarss is a highly accomplished librarian with a strong academic background. Boufarss holds a Ph.D. in Information Studies and Interactive Media from Tampere University in Finland, a Master of Applied Science in Library and Information Management from Charles Sturt University In Australia, and a Master in Translation from king Fahd School of Translation. He possesses a wealth of knowledge and expertise in library and information management.

With a passion for research and a commitment to advancing information literacy, Dr. Boufarss has made significant contributions to the library field in the Arab region in practice and through publications and participation in conferences. Throughout his career of over 23 years, he has served in various roles, including librarian, researcher, and consultant, where he has consistently demonstrated his dedication to providing access to quality information resources.

Dr. Boufarss has previously held positions in major institutions in Morocco and the UAE including Al Akhawayn University, ECSSR, Khalifa University (Petroleum Institute), ADVETI and the House of Wisdom.

Driven by a desire to bridge the digital divide, he has actively worked on developing innovative strategies to encourage lifelong learning. With a keen interest in emerging technologies and their impact on libraries, Dr. Boufarss continues to contribute to the advancement of library services, ensuring that libraries remain relevant in the digital age.
